<title>Supercamp Coming to Bozeman!</title>
<link>http://www.gvbmx.com/postnuke/html/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=74</link>
<description>GVBMX'rs

Well... The story as I heard it is that Burlin was coming though Bozeman July 19th on his way to a national race and offered to do a short supercamp on that Saturday night. The flyer is at http://gvbmx.com/2008_Bozeman.doc.

We would normally have had a race that night but had already canceled that race since we have raced 3 weekends in a row. So no races that night just supercamp.

For those that do not know... Burlin Harris is Bubba Harris's dad and has given Supercamps (BMX training camps taught by pros!) throughout the country and here in Bozeman for many years. Last year we had some scheduling conflicts and could not get them here and this year we did not think they were coming because of the Olympics. Well they are coming and if you ever wanted to meet pro riders and get some pointers on riding technique from them... This is your opportunity.

Let me know if you plan to join us for this... But just come if you want.

Also a recap of this weekends events... We race friday night (5:30 to 6:30 signup), Saturday double point trophy race (11am-12 signup), Sunday State Qualifier double point trophy race (10am to 11am singup). Hope to see all of you there.

Cheers,

Steve

<title>4th of July Celebration, Race for Life and the State Qualifier weekend</title>
<link>http://www.gvbmx.com/postnuke/html/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=73</link>
<description>GVBMX'rs

I wanted to update you all on the near upcoming events, the 4th of July Celebration, Race for Life as well as the State Qualifier weekend.

The 4th of July is a Friday... We are planning our 3rd annual 4th of July BBQ at the track. We will start at the regular time 5:30 to 6:30 for the race registration... Immediately following the races we will have a BBQ. GVBMX will provide the burgers and hot dogs and we ask that everybody bring a salad or dessert and their own drinks. Bring your lawn chairs and a blanket and we will all hang out and watch the fireworks after the BBQ.

Then Saturday the 5th we are having our double point Race For Life. If you have not picked up your donation form you can get them in the moto shed. The race cost $10 plus a minimum of a $10 donation by the rider. So it will be $20 to race for each rider plus any donations you get from others. It is a double point race so season pass holders do have to pay too. This race does not require an ABA membership so we hope to see some of you parents out there racing for charity. Let me know if you need to borrow a bike and will see what I can do. Registration is 5:30 to 6:30 races following.

No Sunday race.

Tuesday and Thursday (8th and 10th of July) races are as normal.

Friday, July 11th we also have a single point race... Regular 5:30 to 6:30 registration time...

Saturday the 12th is our earned double point race... $20 entry fee, registration is from 11am to noon. This is a trophy race!!

Sunday is our State Qualifier. It is also a double point race with a $20 registration fee. Registration is from 10am - 11am. This is also a trophy race. Just to clarify since Montana only has 2 ABA tracks you only have to make the main in one qualifier... if you race in both you get to transfer the best of your two places to the State Championship race. State Championship Race location has not been determined yet.

We need the usual volunteers - staging, finish line, track helpers, concessions, set-up &amp; clean-up. Please let me know if you can commit to helping out with any of this.

If you have any questions please contact me 406-581-3962. I will plan to send out a reminder with any new info early next week.

Cheers,

<title>GVBMX 2008 Season</title>
<link>http://www.gvbmx.com/postnuke/html/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=59</link>
<description>GVBMX'rs

Just a few notes for everybody.

First... If you read the article in the Chronicle (http://dailychronicle.com/articles/2008/04/30/news/40station.txt) the other day you know that our park is one of the sites the city is looking at for the new police station. I talked to the Mark Tymrak and he assured me that IF our park is the one they select that we will get a bigger better place to have our track. Also, this will not effect this years racing season. We will be staying in contact with the city and the process to make sure there is money set aside to help us rebuild if that is what ends up happening.

Second... Monday night I went down and dragged the track. It is looking OK (much better) and I plan to do it again this weekend if weather cooperates. (I will also mention that Bill was there picking up all the winter trash... GROSS! My job was better.) We are also trying to get a roller to roll the track smooth. Please if you are down there riding spend a few minutes picking up rocks. Also you will notice that we spread a bunch of grass seed in the area around and behind the bleachers. Thanks to Ag Depot and John Terry for getting the seed and Derik and Bill for organizing and spreading the seed. Please do your best to avoid stomping on the new seed.

Third... RACING! Well we really had wanted to start racing last Saturday but that did not happen because of snow. This weekend is not a scheduled weekend race and is supposed to rain anyway. Weather dependant we plan to start racing next week on Tuesday and start the regular Tuesday Thursday schedule with 5:30 to 6:30 registration. We are going to do our best to get the moto sheets out as fast as possible while school is still in session. PLEASE if you need to fill out paperwork come a little early... As in... do not show up at 6:27 and start filling out paperwork. We have a lot of young kids who have school and we really want to get things moving the first month of the season.

Don’t forget that you can buy your season pass... Prices are $100 for one racer/class, $175 for 2, $250 for 3 and $300 for a family (unlimited) membership. Please call if you have questions. (Otherwise races are $5 per race)

And last... We are a volunteer organization and would appreciate any help people want to offer. We could use some people in the moto shed helping register and people to help with all the things around the track. Please call me at 581-3962 if you have interest in helping out.

Also we plan to be at the track this weekend working... As always weather dependant! And could always use help. The plan is to do some cleaning up on Saturday afternoon and Sunday we are going to try and set up the gate and test everything out. Please feel free to call me if you want to help out (and get a few gates in!) I will let you know more about the times we will be there!

Cheers... And lets hope for some nice weather!
